Atmakur (Telugu: ఆత్మకూరు) is a town and a Mandal in Kurnool district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.^[1]

Atmakur is a mandal headquarter and assembly constituency in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh state in India. This is also known as Srisailam Atmakur. Though it is a town it has got the best high schools and colleges. Nallamala forest is just a few miles away from this town. And it is on the Kurnool to Guntur state route. In 2009 elections assembly constituency is changed to Srisailam.

It also has the dubious distinction of the crash site which killed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekar Reddy on 2 September 2009.
